Welcome to the Falkland Islands Government Environmental Planning Department website. This site is designed with the intention of providing as much information as possible regarding planning, building and environmental matters.

This department deals with approximately 150 applications for planning permission and/or building permit annually and through this process, it has become apparent that there is a need to provide as much information as possible electronically. Within this site, you will find pages relating to planning (permission, legislation, guidance) and building (permit, advice, handy hints).

The department is also involved in environmental matters, from issuing research licences to producing national environmental strategies and plans. The environment of the Falkland Islands is a national treasure and this department helps to ensure that we use our natural resources sustainably.
